What are your thoughts on the last sentence of The Sometimes Daughter?

The Sometimes Daughter ends with the line "Life was good." What are your thoughts on the author choosing this sentiment as the conclusion? In your opinion, is there a better sentiment to close this novel?

RE: What are your thoughts on the last sentence of The Sometimes Daughter?

I think that Judy thinking "Life was good" was a great way to end the story of all the chaos of her life up till then being, hopefully, in the past. I think she feels she has figured out who she is, where she belongs, and the type of person she wants to be.

I was glad that Judy thought life was good. She is young, has a lot of years ahead of her and needs to put the past behind her. If she does not, she will end up like her mother.

The last sentence ends the novel on a hopeful and optimistic note. I liked that.

Judy was finished with her doubts and indecisions; she was reconciled with herself. A good finish to her past and proof she was looking forward to her future.
