I'm not sure the cutesy name for my generation (Y? Me?) but I'm 28 years old so I feel like I have an advantage to experiencing childhood before the introduction of computers in every home and social networking sites didn't come until I was in college. Because of this, I was able to know to guard myself and my information online, whereas my younger cousins and family friends do not. I'm shocked that younger "tweens" nowadays have full public profiles, share photos, tweet, etc. for anybody to see. It's definitely not something I would do, I keep all of my accounts as private or friends-only. My theory is that if I wouldn't want my mom or a future boss to see it, then I shouldn't put it out there, especially in the public eye.
Reading about the social media in the novel and how it was all exposed makes me glad that mine is kept privileged. Of course, even with a subpoena, my private photos or emails could be accessed... so that's not saying much.
