What do you think it was like in Germany for the women left behind?

What do you think it was like in Germany for the women left behind? What differences would there have been between single women and those with children to take care of?

RE: What do you think it was like in Germany for the women left behind?

For the women left behind it must have been excruciating, just as it would be for any war. When you don't know what's happening your mind can create terrible scenarios. Anything could transpire. Women with children must keep things as safe as possible for them, which would give them a purpose yet also weigh them down knowing they're to a large extent responsible for others than themselves. Neither is a good scenario.

Very, very difficult due to hard work necessary for survival, and constant uncertainty. Terrific physical and emotional hardships!
