Is the story as effective without Jennifer as the narrator?

RE. Why we need Jennifer as our narrator

This is her story. As crazy as it sounds, we need Jennifer's point of view. Without it, the mystery elements
Or the reasonable doubt cannot be realistically portrayed. The insanity or sanity of her situation increases
With every single word and thought Jennifer has....what a credit to La Plante's story telling skills. I love that Jennifer is all knowing, yet ironically, she is not.
