Zelda had a talent for painting, writing and dancing. I don't think she would have won acclaim in any of these arts. She was better than many but not among the best. Her manic state pushed her and she worked hard but working hard does not is not enough. I have many very small talents and always felt that they enriched my life.

I thought that Zelda stepped into her life with tenacity, intrepidity, and pluck, qualities I do not, in truth, possess but would like to, at least to some small degree.

It always seems a bit unfair to me that people with innate talents in areas like painting or dance are also very talented in other areas. I felt that Zelda's writing ability was probably her strongest suit, although dance was probably the one she should have pursued completely while she was young and well enough to do it. Writing and painting can be done throughout life while dance has a limited window for performance success.

I would love to have her writing talents, although I wouldn't care to do what she did and let my work be published under my spouse's name, just to get it out there.

I admire her writing talents the most. What a wonderful command of the English language she had. Her words sang on a page and painted wonderful pictures.
