I liked how her condition brought her to good things and I liked how Helen found her.

I was pleased that Rosie was able to ultimately find happiness in life. And the reunion at the end of the book was just icing on the cake. I would have loved to learn more about Rosie’s relationship with her husband and what life was like after reuniting with Amaryllis and Helen. I suppose that’s up to our imaginations. I hope they all had long and happy lives!!

Rosie was a survivor. After all the terrible things that happened to her she didn’t give up on life, instead she kept figuring out how to move forward and make a better life for herself. She was up against incredible odds. I was very happy to read that she met a man, fell in love and then was reunited with her daughter.

Part of me wonders why she didn't start touring and railing against forced sterilization. But maybe mothering her husband's children filled a bigger need in her psyche than talking about the wrongs that had been done to her.
Maybe Belle is the one who would have written the book and toured the country doing the railing.

I thought it was a good ending for Rosie. She gets to be a step-mother for years and then meets her daughter. I also liked that she married someone who understood her condition and didn't consider it a disability. I'd like to think that she teams up with Helen for future education talks on forced sterilization.

Rosie was incredibly resilient as a teenager and that resilience carried on into her adult years. As LizB pointed out it would have been nice to learn more about Rosie’s relationship with her husband. Reading between the lines, I imagined a very nice life: how many doctors would have helped with chairs at a conference/book signing or would have taken the time to talk with a teenager with such respect, kindness and compassion.

I loved that Rosie's life was positive and that she was able to have the family life that she so desperately needed and wanted. As others have mentioned, it would have been wonderful to get a glimpse into Rosie's marriage years. Of course, that would have altered the structure of the novel which I enjoyed immensely!
