Don't be complacent!
I was so smug when I read this book, thought I figured it out and even said, "It was good, but I figured it out before the end". Until I got to the end. Humbling, to say the least. This was a good mystery, with several layers, several stories within stories, that kept me intrigued. The characters were well developed and likable and, most of all, kept you guessing. If you're a mystery fan, don't pass this one up. It may surprise you.

Makes Me Glad I'm Not a Commuter on the London Underground
I thoroughly enjoyed this well-crafted psychological thriller that starts slowly and gains momentum as several women are murdered and/or raped in London. These cases seem unrelated until police discover they are linked via a website--FindtheOne.com. Ostensibly a "dating" website, when interested persons join, they are given not only a profile and photo of each woman but also the specific trains they take on their daily commute to and from work
The story is told in alternating chapters following each of the two main female characters--one is an intended victim and the other a detective working frantically to discover the mastermind behind the website.
The author creates well-developed characters and the plot is a different take on the usual stalker story. In particular, I like the way she creates diversions with several characters, making each one the possible mastermind. Many of the scenes, especially those in the London Underground, create an eerie and ominous atmosphere. An unexpected twist gives the ending a "wow!" factor. This one has stayed with me for days after I finished it. Great read.

Another Captivating Thriller!
Clare Mackintosh has done it again! If you enjoyed I Let You Go, you will love reading I See You. From the first page, the reader is drawn into the story and it's characters. Mackintosh is a wonder at creating true, sympathetic characters that the reader can absolutely relate to and picture! The storyline is fast paced and takes some twists, it will certainly keep you turning the pages! I will eagerly await Mackintosh's next novel!

Be prepared to be scared
This book is one of the scariest books I've ever read because it's not fantasy but a reality that could really happen to you and me. The way the author structured the book kept you turning pages; first victim, police, then perp.
I'm going out to buy my pepper spray now.

I SEE YOU
Intriguing title for a most intriguing psychological thriller. Great characters, riveting suspense. I was completely hooked and I must confess that I went waaaay over my bedtime to finish it. I didn't get to start the book for a while after receiving it, but when I did, I made up for lost time. I love it when a book captures me this way. It's like being starving and coming across a sumptuous spread. Clare MackIntosh is a very important author and I can't wait for her next book!

Gripping thriller
This is the first novel I've read by Clare Mackintosh, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot is genuinely creepy - women in London are assaulted and killed during their commute, and the police are trying to track down the killer(s). However, it's the family dynamic between some of the characters that gave me an uneasy feeling while reading it. It's relatively rare for a story will have multiple twists which are all surprising to me, but that was the case here.

I SEE A GREAT READING EXPERIENCE!
I love a good mystery with psychological suspense, twists and turns, and surprise endings, and I was not disappointed! I SEE YOU was a great read! The characters were well developed, with just enough information to make me suspect of everyone at one time or another.
I was unfamiliar with some of the UK references and jargon, but I found the different first/third person narratives fairly easy to follow. The italicized words of the "watcher" were chilling! This book kept my attention!
It is understandable to have that eerie feeling as one reads late into the night, but I knew I was hooked on this book when I found myself thinking about it as I was going through my daily life. We are truly creatures of habit, going about our schedules and routines without a thought about what is happening (or lurking) at the perimeter of our focused existence.
Just when I was smug and satisfied with my sleuthing in this book, yet another twist! Treat yourself to a good mystery and read I SEE YOU!
