Emily Mitchell was born 1975 in London, England, and was educated at Middlebury College as an undergraduate. She lived for many years in New York City where she obtained her Master of Fine Arts at Brooklyn College. Her stories have been published in Harper's, Ploughshares, New England Review, and elsewhere.
Mitchell is the author of the novel The Last Summer of the World. She resided in San Francisco, California, and is currently an Assistant Professor in the English Dept. at the University of Maryland.
