L. Patrick Gray III (19162005) was acting director of the FBI at the height of the Watergate scandal, from May 1972 to April 1973. Ed Gray, his son, is a naturalist writer and the founder of Grays Sporting Journal. He is the author of seven books and lives in Lyme, New Hampshire.
