After the conclusion fo the novel, how do you imagine events unfolding?

The novel concludes without describing what happens when Annie flies to Paris to reveal to Robbie the truth about his paternity and about Emme's motivations. How do you imagine events unfolding between Annie and Robbie, and ultimately, between Robbie and Emme?

These are good people and I see a return to calm for all. Annie and Robbie will return to their former relationship, it will take some understanding on Robbie's part, but it will happen. As far as Robbie and Emme, I don't think there will be a relationship, or not for the near future.

Annie, I would imagine will have a tough time explaining Robbie's paternity to him. Maybe in the future he will come to accept what she has to say. I can't see the relationship returning to "all is well" too soon in the future. It depends also on just how honest she is, and how accepting he will be. As far as Robbie and Emme's relationship, much depends on her mental state, the treatment she is receiving. She harbored a tremendous amount of hate, that is not easy to get over. He is one to forgive, but much depends on how far their relationship had gone and will they be able to build a different kind of relationship.

Even though the book is written "to Robbie," I think that ultimately explaining Robbie's paternity will be difficult. The fact that she was so young certainly helps, but the sad fact that she was not in love with his father does not.
I see Annie and Robbie having a normal relationship, after he has adjusted to his shocking news.
Emme has been a very unstable character and her relationship with Robbie has been complex. I don't see them forging a strong friendship due to her basic instability and the complicating issue of her being to blame for the car wreck.

This is a shattered family. Robbie may never forgive her. Perhaps Annie should learn to live alone and be happy wither self before she tries family life again.

I thing the future will be rough going for everyone, especially Robbie. He has a forgiving nature, but the facts of his paternity and the fact that he had a possibly romantic relationship with his half-sister are going to be difficult for him to come to terms with. I don't know if Annie's marriage will ultimately survive and except for the pain that divorce brings to young children, I don't particularly care. I don't like her.

I think that Robbie and Annie will have difficulty getting pass the paternity issue but I think he is a smart kid and has a good relationship with Annie's husband and will realize that this is the man that raised him and loved him. However, I can see Annie getting more involved with Emme, as she may feel guilty in regards to her relationship with Malcolm. I am not sure that the family could survive that.

I see Annie and Robbie and Johnathan all ending up (after time) with good relationships, as well as good relationships with the two daughters. I think Emme will be out of their lives. She is too damaged to have a good relationship with any of them although I can imagine Robbie trying.

I think it is set up to have a good resolution and I would anticipate the meeting will be alright if a bit shocking for her son. I think because the father can't take over Annie's husbands position as dad will not be changed. None of them knew and frankly her husband knew she was fresh off a relationship. The timing was very close and could have just as well been his kid.

I believe in the short-term things will be extremely strained between Robbie and Annie, but ultimately Robbie will forgive her because she is his mother and the bond between children and their mother is extremely strong with the majority of situations. I have witness children forgiving a parent for far more serious wrongs than this situation. I also believe this news will not seriously impact Robbie's relationship with Annie's husband as being a father is more than biological.

I just can't see the marriage repairing itself. Too much has trust has been destroyed. I think Annie and Robbie will come to have a good relationship after giving Robbie some time to think and forgive.

I hope that Annie and Jonathan get back together as I believe they both really love each other. It will be hard for all of them but in the end I think their love for each other, Robbie included, will bring them through this.

It will be difficult for Annie to talk to Robbie about his paternity. That's a lot to swallow. But he will have a hard time accepting the affect it has on his relationship with Emme. I like to believe that Annie and Jonathon can repair their marriage bit it certainly won't be easy

I think Robbie will have a difficult time understanding all this and accepting Emme as a half-sister. I do not feel he will hold all this against his mother for long and he will always feel that Jonathan is his real father. I would hope that Emme and Robbie would develop some type of relationship. I do not think the girls will suffer from this summer. I hope Annie and Jonathan can come together again

I think Robbie,Jonathan and Annie will return to a good relationship. While Robbie may be hurt and angry for a while, the mother son bond is very strong and time will mend it. I'm not so sue about Emme, I would like to think that she and Jonathan might have some type of relationship but she was pretty damaged from the start.

RE: After the conclusion fo the novel, how do you imagine events unfolding?

I think Annie and Jonathan will survive. After all, she wasn't with Jonathan when she got pregnant and she didn't know that Jonathan wasn't Robbie's father. Robbie on the other hand is going to be a problem because of his feelings for Emme. He is in love or at least infatuated with Emme. It will be difficult to understand that they are siblings. I think the parentage part he would get over, but the feelings for Emme (Daisy) are what is going to affect how he views everything. He may take on some of Daisy's feelings and blame Annie. That will be more difficult to overcome.

I found it interesting that we don't get to know what happens in terms of any relationships except for Annie and Jonathan. I think Robbie will understand and accept the situation that Annie was in. There didn't seem to ever be a case where she questioned that Jonathan was his father. Robbie and Emme on the other hand both need to move on from the other. She was calculating in getting into their lives and he needs to acknowledge that and free himself from her.
