Six People In Search of A Life
by Paul Solotaroff
The group broke out in its biggest hurrah, much taken now with Peter and his improbable good luck. Dylan leaned over, saying he needed to talk to him about a loan. Rex was eyeing him with newfound respect, and more than a smidgen of envy.
"So when's the wedding?" cried Jack. "They've got planes to Vegas every hour."
"Yeah, my God, what're you doing in therapy?" wondered Sara. "Shouldn't you be out shopping for a red Ferrari, or whatever men buy when they hit the jackpot?"
But here Lathon stepped in and cut them off, saying that all would be revealed in time. As Peter was trying to tell them, you can't buy a story with money. Even renting one will cost more than you've got.
