The finalists for this year's National Book Awards have been announced. Titles in the running for the Fiction award include Peter Carey's Parrot and Olivier in America, Nicole Krauss's Great House and Lionel Shriver's So Much for That.
Nonfiction includes Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick and Cultures of War by John W Dower.
