I read the book "Where the Heart Is" by Billy Letts . I thought that this was an outstanding book whose characters I could really relate to . I definitely plan on reading Billie Lett's other book . To anyone who likes a really "heartwarming' kind of story, this book is for you !

This is one of the best books I have ever read!!! it helped me through some very hard times and showed me that there is always someone there. I am from Oklahoma and really relate to her characters and their lives. if you didn't like this book; it's a southern thing, you wouldn't understand. and if you did I highly recommend Honk & Holler Opening Soon, another amazing novel by Billy Letts.

This author has captured something that is not lost, but perhaps buried deep in our national persona. He finds in a legend the complicated intricacies of greatness. The man Lombardi, never a simple character, rose as can all of us, above the petty, despite our own shortcomings. This powerful book reminds us that un-perfect people can rise to great things. Dignity, honor and sacrifice above self, is not very popular as a concept these days. Lombardi's legacy is to remind us that without these virtues, we cannot move forward. Congratulations on a great and inspiring read Mr. Maraniss.

A very interesting book, with James Patterson's usual pounding pace. The descriptions were magical, and the continual twisting of the plot keeps the reader on their toes... I would heartily recommend this to anyone with an interest in the very volatile subject of GM.

Very refreshing book from James Patterson, I wish he would do more on this order. Cat and Mouse was much too violent. He is to good of an author to do only the one type of book he had been doing up to When The Wind Blows. This was the first one of his my 41 year old daughter had read. She was going to look for others of his, but changed her mind when I told her they were very violent.

Being an avid fan of Fried Green Tomatoes, I was initially disappointed to see that Flagg had strayed from her traditional Southern utopia, but it didn't take me more than a few chapters to fall in love with this fresh cast of characters. I am using Flagg's books for a Senior (high school) Thesis, and this is the best novel (over all) I've read yet. I'm dying for her to write a sequel!!

I must confess that I came to read this book long before "Green fried tomatoes" and it really captivated me. I loved the human warmth that transpires from every one of the book pages, I easily fell in love with the characters that became so real, so vivid that at times you feel you know exactly how they look and what they think. Reading this book was pure delight for me and I warmly recommend it to everyone who enjoys a good, heart-wrenching story.

This book was a bit of a disappointment as I was really expecting another story like "Fried Green Tomatoes." I love Fannie Flagg but she left the south for this one and ended up in the 1970's Manhattan. It's not her best work, but also not a terrible read.

As I finished this book for the first time I turned to the front to begin reading again. It is a captivating story, made all the more so through the way in which the tale is told from so many viewpoints, with the ordinary lives of the characters described so well you feel you know them intimately. The storytelling is compelling and you are well able to imagine such characters existing and follow their train of thought. As the story unfolds slowly you become less and less able to put this book down- I highly recommend it.

I was surprised that my favorite author left hometown folks to initiate her character Dena Nordstom. However, as the novel progresses, it is obvious that Dena is looking for home as many of us are. I really liked this novel. I am a fan of Fannie since high school - about 1964-1965 when she produced her hilarious records. Being a southerner makes me feel close to whatever Fannie writes. I is a great book!

I was a little confused, because the Macky and Norma were mentioned in Fried Green Tomatoes but have no connection, at least so far. (I'm not done with the book) I find it an enjoyable read, but I'm not as in love with the characters as i was in Fried Green Tomatoes.
