The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
by Mark Haddon
Fascinating (3/20/2008)
This story is told from a fascinating perspective. It reflects on many adult situations in a wry sense of humor. Sometimes Christopher sees more clearly than those of us without "special needs". This is a sad and humorous story that I highly recommend.
A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier
by Ishmael Beah
Incredible (3/20/2008)
I would never have understood how a child could become a willing killer if I hadn't read this story. It is a remarkable description that makes you not only believe, but also understand how it happens. I want young people to read this story, not only to know how good theymore
The Glass Castle: A Memoir
by Jeannette Walls
Eye-opener (3/20/2008)
I enjoyed this book so much I am having my students read it. I think it is a fascinating perspective on the homeless, and an inspiring story for those who blame their lack of success on bad luck.
