South of Broad
by Pat Conroy
Another winner from Pat Conroy (9/23/2009)
I was so pleased to have the opportunity to read and review this book. I have read all of Mr. Conroy's fiction and enjoyed the books in varying degrees.

I found the descriptions of Charleston so vivid that I felt I was there. The story itself seemed to bog down in the middle, but by the end of the book I was totally immersed in the world of Leo King and his friends.

All in all, a pleasure to read.
An Incomplete Revenge: A Maisie Dobbs Novel
by Jacqueline Winspear
An Incomplete Revenge (3/3/2008)
I have been a fan of Jacqueline Winspear since she wrote her first "Maisie Dobbs" novel. I especially like British mysteries and have read no others with a female investigator that take place in the pre-and post-WWI years. The author gives enough background in this book for the reader to be familiar with the recurring characters in the previous four books, but I would recommend reading them in order. I am envious of those who are new to this series and have the opportunity to relish five well-written historical mysteries!
