The Lieutenant was a difficult read.  I found the vocabulary not to be user-friendly, often using terms that are uncommon.  The sentences were often convoluted and hard to understand.  The story is lacking in purpose, there seems to be no theme nor anymore

Though somewhat morbid, this mystery holds the attention of the reader very well. I found the book engaging despite its subject matter (child abuse and child pornography).

I would not suggest this as a title for the book club that I moderate as I am afraid that most of themore
