This book is a quick and enjoyable read, but I had the sense that the author was trying to fit too much into the story and the constant flashbacks were distracting.
The story is interesting but all over the place.
This would probably be a good beach or airplane book, butmore

The premise of this book was promising and I was immediately drawn into wanting to know more about the character and who the "he" was that was referred to in her mother's note. But, unfortunately, the story gets a bit muddled and having two characters with the same name wasmore

This story of 3 generations of Chinese women is interesting but I felt that it glossed over big pieces of history, such as WWII. Additionally, this is a story that revolves around food, and, unfortunately, there is very little, other than Lily's curry that is explored ormore
The Pirate's Daughter

I am an avid Errol Flynn fan, Captain Blood is one of my all time favorite movies, so I just devoured this book. I loved the descriptions of Jamaica and the relationships between the mothers and daughters. Overall, I couldn't wait to come home each night and have this bookmore
