The Crow Road
by Iain Banks
The Crow Road (9/12/2008)
This was the the first Iain Banks book that I've read, and was delighted to get the chance to read The Crow Road. I, however, was very disappointed, and agree with Kim who previously reviewed it...it jumped around so much that it was too confusing for me to enjoy.
The Good Thief: A Novel
by Hannah Tinti
The Good Thief (7/31/2008)
Oh, wow, The Good Thief is one good book!

Written somewhat in the manner of a Charles Dickens, Tinti writes beautifully with characters, Ren in particular, who wend their way into your hearts.

I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a really good read!
Holding My Breath: A Novel
by Sidura Ludwig
Holding My Breath (5/27/2008)
This is a wonderful first novel about a young girl who grows up in a close knit Jewish-Canadian family. Ludwig writes poignantly and beautifully in this first person narrative. This is a great read and one I would recommend to anyone who enjoys reading about family life. I look forward to reading future books of hers!
