The Doctor and the Diva: A Novel
by Adrienne McDonnell
Doctor and the Diva (6/8/2010)
I'm having difficulty writing a review for this book. Although I wanted to keep reading to find out how it was going to end I felt like I needed more. I rated it a 4 but, if I could, I would probably give it a 3.5.
Cleopatra's Daughter
by Michelle Moran
Cleopatra's Daughter (9/14/2009)
This book is the story of the lives of Cleopatra's children after her death. Being a fan of historical fiction, especially this time period, I was really looking forward to reading this book and was not disappointed. I have already recommended it to friends and look forward to reading this author's other books.
Eve: A Novel of the First Woman
by Elissa Elliott
The story of Adam and Eve (1/5/2009)
Even though I already know the story of Adam and Eve from the Bible, I liked this book from the beginning. Although it is fiction, it is based on historical fact and tells the story from the perspective of the females of the family. It kept me entertained throughout and I would definitely recommend it to others.
The Music Teacher
by Barbara Hall
Pleasantly surprised (9/30/2008)
I thought this book was going to be a quick, predictable read about a child prodigy and the teacher who lives vicariously through him/her. Instead, it is more about the teacher's failures and how they shape her life and the decisions she makes. Although I found myself disliking the teacher, I still felt myself drawn to her, feeling sorry for her, and hoping she would succeed.
