I enjoy a good mystery or thriller and was not disappointed. The story kept my interest and moved right along. There were times when you wonder who is the hunter and who is being hunted. A good book that brings up questions and keeps you guessing what will happen next.
The story of two close friends and their choices and opportunities held my interest for too short a time. Although the premise was interesting I found it drawn out and repetitive.
I was drawn to the book anticipating I would learn about another time and culture. Both were provided along with two good story lines. At times I irritated by the back forth between time periods. Mainly as I wanted to know what happened next. Overall it kept me reading wanting to know what came next and how the stories would collide. A book worth reading.
Losing Clementine: A Novel
by Ashley Ream
Definitely lost Clementine(2/14/2012)
Did not care for this book. I was not entertained or amused, I just wanted it to end. The ending held what little hope if found.
Not one of the authors best. I thought the story slow paced. Having looked forward to this book I felt let down.
Sister: A Novel
by Rosamund Lupton
An author to keep in mind(5/18/2011)
Overall I found this book a good read. The relationship between the two sisters was well written and enviable. The mystery was well kept but at times a bit confusing. The ending a surprise but not finished enough for my taste.
Original Sin: A Sally Sin Adventure
by Beth Mcmullen
Entertainment(2/10/2011)
The bright pink cover threw me a bit, not fitting a spy type thriller theme. The story however kept up a good pace with humor and suspense. There is nothing like a female James Bond with a diaper bag to liven up the everyday blahs. Hope there are more on the way.
This book begins with an interesting concept. I enjoyed the contrast between languages and characters. Although I enjoyed most of the book I found the ending abrupt and more tragic than the original accident.
An enjoyable read with characters some sad and needy, others charming and brave. There are moments of both amusement and grief; a story of strangers, friends and family you will be glad you met. A trip through the south I am pleased to have taken.
