It'll never be taught in highschool English class for it's stellar example of American literature, but if all you're looking for an easy to read guilty pleasure, this book and it's successors will put you in your happy place. It's a cute story about a typical girl next door who finds love when she befriends a mistfit. It's a pretty classic story, except that in this case the misfit happens to be a vampire. It took me a little while to get over the fact that it's really not about vampires, which is what I was looking for when I picked it up. It's about two characters who, against all odds, somehow find a connection with each other. Don't kid yourself, there's a reason why this is categorized as 'juvenile fiction' in your local bookstore. You will not gain any IQ points reading this book, but it's a fun read none-the-less.
