The Night Circus: A Novel
by Erin Morgenstern
The Night Circus (7/10/2011)
I loved this book!!! It is mystical, magical and illusionary. The characters are well-defined. The plot keeps us guessing and is a real page turner.
This is a first book for Erin Morganstern and hopefully a best seller!
Radio Shangri-La: What I Learned in Bhutan, the Happiest Kingdom on Earth
by Lisa Napoli
Radio Shangri-La (2/25/2011)
I loved reading this book. My husband and I visited Bhutan 20 years ago and were fascinated by the country. This book gives you a glimpse of how modern technology such as television, radio and outside influences are changing the country. You decide if it has been positive or negative!!!!
Pearl of China: A Novel
by Anchee Min
PEARL OF CHINA (3/4/2010)
Pearl of China is literally a Jewel of a book. It brings new meaning to family, friendship, love and loss. A friendship that lasts a lifetime. My bookclub focused on Pearl Buck's The Good Earth and Sons last year and this will be a perfect book to share...it is a must read.
Life Class: A Novel
by Pat Barker
Life Class (3/3/2008)
Pat Barker can add another success with her new novel Life Class. Her beautiful writing skills combined with well defined characters makes this a wonderful read. Barker reminds us of the harsh realities of war and it's effect on an entire generation robbed of it's innocence.
