The Face Thief: A Novel
by Eli Gottlieb
You MUST READ this Book! (12/17/2011)
Not unlike the protagonist, I quickly "fell" into this book. The juxtaposing story lines kept me on edge, and oh so nicely came together in the end. Mysterious, intriguing, captivating. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
The Dressmaker: A Novel
by Kate Alcott
The Dressmaker (10/26/2011)
I was looking forward to a new twist on the Titanic "genre." Unfortunately, The Dressmaker was a highly predictable, same ole', same ole'--the ships sinks, which guy should I be with? and my, oh my whatever career should I choose? Typical Titanic novel. Disappointing at best.
Folly Beach: A Lowcountry Tale
by Dorothea Benton Frank
"'S wonderful ! 'S marvleous !" (6/11/2011)
"'S wonderful ! 'S marvelous !
(That) You should care for me !
'S awful nice ! 'S paradise !
'S what I love to see!"

The juxtaposition of story lines, the beach air, the sun and the sand, all added to this very delightful summer read. Slightly predictable, but who cares? It's Folly Beach !
The Tudor Secret: The Elizabeth I Spymaster Chronicles
by C. W. Gortner
The Tudor Secret (3/12/2011)
A Medieval tale of mystery and intrigue set in and around the courts of dark, dank London town. Gortner's novel moves quickly and vividly conveying the smells, sights and sounds of London in and around the 1550s. The opening scenes were very enjoyable, but as the story progressed it became rather predictable and reminded me of the TV series Survivor or better yet life in corporate America today. (Maybe rightly so.) I enjoy historical fiction, but would not recommend this as it just wasn't rich and filling enough for me. Entertaining, but not a great read.
A Lonely Death: An Inspector Ian Rutledge Mystery
by Charles Todd
A Lonely Death (11/11/2010)
Charles Todd's latest novel was a little slow to start, but quickly turned into a roller coaster ride through the English countryside.

Filled with all the twists and turns and dead ends a good murder mystery provides along with a touch of unrequited love. You won't be disappointed!
The Language of Secrets
by Dianne Dixon
The Language of Secrets (2/5/2010)
I loved the title. I loved the cover. I wanted to love the book, but some inconsistencies in dialogue tripped me up and I would only give this book an average to good rating. Good ending.
