The Language of Flowers: A Novel
by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
Very enjoyable (6/5/2011)
This book is the story of a foster child trying to find her way in the world. Her life is based on the Language of Flowers, her way of communication. Fortunately most people around her understand this language, other she teaches them as her business grows. She is fearful and has trust issues. Running away is her way of coping. She finally faces her fears and failures. I'd look forward to second book.....
The Tudor Secret: The Elizabeth I Spymaster Chronicles
by C. W. Gortner
Tudor disappointment (3/25/2011)
I found this book unappealing. Also I think this is a republish of another book title. I struggled to enjoy the characters and found myself skimming through this book.
The Paris Wife: A Novel
by Paula McLain
Hemingway (12/8/2010)
I enjoyed this book for the description of the 20's life style. The relationship was dysfunctional and Hemingway so needy. After reading this book my interest was peaked and I went on to do further research about Hemingway and his life.
Bury Your Dead: A Chief Inspector Gamache Novel, #6
by Louise Penny
A Mystery Tour of Quebec (9/13/2010)
This was my first Louise Penny Book. Besides the Travelog of Quebec, there are separate mysteries playing out at the same time. I couldn't wait for them to be all tied together. Characters well defined and I may consider reading other books by this author.
