Shocking Paris: Soutine, Chagall and the Outsiders of Montparnasse
by Stanley Meisler
Shocking Paris (3/1/2015)
Not as good as others Meisler has written. Seemed that he started with one idea and then didn't have enough for a book and went back and added more information. Perhaps a good editor will smooth it out.
Low Town: A Novel
by Daniel Polansky
Low Town (6/28/2011)
Good descriptions. Interesting plot. I was there in Low Town. But I just didn't enjoy my visit. Perhaps Mr. Polansky's next effort will be more worth the visit.
The Kitchen Daughter: A Novel
by Jael McHenry
The Kitchen Daughter (4/2/2011)
Good, informative read. I enjoyed reading about someone dealing with Asperger's syndrome, a condition about which I knew very little. I would recommend it to book clubs.
Mozart's Sister
by Rita Charbonnier
Review of Mozart's Sister (10/24/2007)
A book about a dysfunctional family, scandals, true love and music. Lots and lots of music. Sad that women have come so far and how little has changed.
