Wife 22: A Novel
by Melanie Gideon
wife 22 (4/19/2012)
I thought the author tried to take today's life happening and write a book. It was a easy read but didn't have much substance for me. She tried to hard to make a believable story. It just didn't work for me. When I read a book I want to enjoy reading, and look forward to finishing the story.
The Look of Love: A Piper Donovan Mystery
by Mary Jane Clark
The Look of Love by Mary Jane Clark (11/15/2011)
The book was good but not great. It was very slow moving and a little predicable. I wouldn't say you had to read or buy it. I knew who the murderer was after a few chapters. I've read some of her other books and they were much better.
Folly Beach: A Lowcountry Tale
by Dorothea Benton Frank
Folly Beach by Dorothea B. Frank (6/14/2011)
While I never have read anything by this author, I did like the book. I enjoyed the going back and forth in the story, but I felt I was reading about today's happenings to people: Losing their homes, money and etc. The best part of the book was the historical history about Charleston Renaissance of the early twenties. I would recommend this book to my friends.
Friendship Bread: A Novel
by Darien Gee
Friendship Bread (3/4/2011)
I loved the book and couldn't put it down. It made me think about friendships we have with friends, family and community citizens. I wish I had a piece of the Amish Bread right now. I'm sure anyone who reads this book will enjoy it. I have a few
friends who want to read it now. I can't wait for her to write another book. It's very encouraging to go out of your way for friends.
An Amish Christmas: A Novel
by Cynthia Keller
An Amish Christmas (9/3/2010)
What a delightful and inspiring read! I could definitely identify with the Hobart family. Meg, the matriarch, is a woman committed to her husband and family yet when faced with adversity she quickly adapts and rises to the challenges ahead. She echoes so many women today and projected real feelings that many women share when their spouse deceives them and destroys the trust their marriage had been built upon. Her teenagers were ripe for a real world adjust as they enter the Amish world of the Lutz family. I really enjoyed how their detour in Life provided them with the experiences to face their new journey with hope, excitement and a mended family.
While My Sister Sleeps
by Barbara Delinsky
While My Sister Sleeps by Barbara Delinsky (12/11/2008)
I liked the book right away as it held my interest. It dealt with medical ethics, sibling rivalry, and unfortunately one night stands and pregnancy. I would recommend this to my friends to read. It had a lot of info on both subjects and lately everyone has secrets in their closets. I give it a 5.
