Surprises (5/29/2014)
What a charming book. All sorts of twists and unexpected turns. The best part is that we all know people just like the characters in real life. A good read, easy and it makes you happy with the outcomes. Certainly not full of angst or bitterness, but full of whimsy and fun.
Crime of Privilege

Crime of Privilege (4/23/2013)
Justice?? what is it? and for whom??? This book came so close to describing events that happened in my lifetime. Eventually someone paid, but to what end? I found the story very thought provoking and absolutely riveting. I gave it to my husband to read his nose was in the book constantly. The last line is very powerful. Just do what?
Palisades Park

Palisades Park (2/27/2013)
A thoroughly enjoyable story of a close knit community. Not your average one, in fact one that people of my age were warned to stay away from. Issues are faced and resolved, difficult life situations addressed, some resolved, some just lived with. Having lived in the middle of the era the book is set in, I can say the author is spot on with the times and morays. Also having lived in Hawaii for 20 years, he has that culture spot on. I would recommend this to anyone. Good solid read!
The Darkening Field: A Novel
by William Ryan
The Darkening Field by William Ryan (11/27/2011)
What a Fun read! it is not everyday you get a chance to read a classic western/mystery/thriller and historical fiction all rolled into one. It was a little work keeping the names straight, but well worth it. Highlights a difficult era in our past in a way that makes no apologies, and is entertaining.
The Lovers: A Novel

Coming of age for "women of a certain age" (4/1/2010)
Very interesting story of one woman's quest to "find" her true self after children have come of age and life changes leave her alone. Any woman of "a certain age" can relate to some part of this book. Told in a interesting easy to read setting.
