Have Mother, Will Travel: A Mother and Daughter Discover Themselves, Each Other, and the World
by Claire & Mia Fontaine
have mother, will travel by Claire and Mia Fontaine(6/16/2012)
This is a beautifully written book. Interesting in that it is the same experience written by completely different views. Mother and daughter go on a 6 month trip in many foreign countries together and each write their impressions of events that occur. And in doing so …more realize that they really like each other and become very good friends. An achievement in itself because sometimes it is difficult to do especially between Mothers and Daughters. It is written by two accomplished writers and is very well done. I really enjoyed it very much.(less)
This book is beautifully written. The characters are very well developed and believable. An intriguing story of moors, mist and mystery. Keeps you guessing until the very end. For a debut novel is a gem.
This is a very good read. I could not wait to read it each day and when I was through, held it in my hands and tears came unexpectedly. The history of the area in North Carolina at the time of the novel was excellent. The characters were well developed and the author made …more you feel that you really knew them. I will look forward to reading other novels from this very talented writer.(less)
The Good Father: A Novel
by Noah Hawley
The Good Father(12/2/2011)
This is a wonderful book. I could not wait to read it each day. The author did a great job with developing the characters and interspersing the story with actual events was brilliant. This should be a best seller and I look forward to reading other books by this author.
This beautifully written book could be categorized as Historical Fiction. I couldn't wait to read it each day. It depicts the Chinese people during a time before the Revolution. A very intimate portrayal and the reader becomes immersed in their everyday lives. The author …more brings you right into the story. I shed a tear when I finished the book as I didn't want it to end.(less)
Heat Wave: A Novel
by Nancy Thayer
Heat Wave(5/2/2011)
A wonderful read. Characters were nicely developed and you knew them as if they were actually your friends. My only wish was that I would have loved some of the recipes for all those delicious sounding muffins and cookies. I certainly will read other books by Nancy Thayer. …more I finished this lovely book in three days.(less)
