Flat Water Tuesday
by Ron Irwin
Compelling crew (4/30/2013)
Flat Water Tuesday is the compelling story of 5 teenage crew members and their coach at a prep school. It was filled with vivid descriptions of the life and surroundings of the crew team. I would recommend this for it's moving story and the gorgeous depictions of the life of a crew team.
The Last Girl: A Maeve Kerrigan Novel
by Jane Casey
Kerrigan's case (4/5/2013)
This book is part of a series but you can read it as a stand alone. There are references to incidents in earlier books. The story took off at the beginning with a brutal murder. The group of detectives working it keep the story going with their constant back and forth as well as their personal relationships. Maeve Kerrigan is someone you want to know more about. I would like to read the other Kerrigan books.
And When She Was Good: A Novel
by Laura Lippman
Ripped from the Headlines (7/3/2012)
I found this book promising but slow paced. It jumped from one time in the story to another, which made it some what confusing. The story was a ripped from the headlines kind of story with a heroine who was not as smart as she thought.
Afterwards: A Novel
by Rosamund Lupton
Ghost thriller (4/25/2012)
Page turning thriller that is told by not quite ghosts. At times the implausibility of it all was frustrating and hard to get past. As a detective story and a tale about familial love this story was firing on all cylinders. Another good book from Rosamund Lupton.
