The Rebellion of Miss Lucy Ann Lobdell
by William Klaber
The Rebellion of Lucy Lobdell (1/15/2015)
Interesting topic depicting the ambitious determination of women seeking more in life than is typically "allowed" or expected. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it for my book club.
All You Could Ask For
by Mike Greenberg
All you could ask for (12/4/2012)
Excellent book...easy read. amazing that a male author could write with deep understanding of woman's feelings, esp. going thru the diagnosis of cancer. Great depiction of how strong and valuable female relationships are in life/death.
Highly recommend this for a book club.
The Land of Decoration: A Novel
by Grace McCleen
The Land of Decoration by Grace McCleen (3/6/2012)
A very compelling story of a young girl and her tenacity to keep her faith while hanging on to love...especially for her father. She has a difficult life and her faith is constantly put to the test. It grabbed me very early on and I very much liked the short chapters. I don't consider myself a fast reader but finished this in a weekend. I would highly recommend this for anyone but in particular middle school teachers due to the reference of bullying and how it was handled here. Great debut novel....I shall look forward to the next one.
