The Language of Flowers: A Novel
by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
The Language of Flowers (5/31/2011)
When I finished this book, it was hard to let go of Victoria. I wanted to keep walking down the road with her. She is a character that I'll always remember.

What a valuable, heartfelt book. One of those books that stands heads above so many others- it is unforgettable. I want to stand up and cheer for Victoria and for this book.

Thank you Vanessa Diffenbaugh.
Friendship Bread: A Novel
by Darien Gee
Friendship Bread (3/8/2011)
I enjoyed this book very much. I've told so many people about this book- I think Friendship Bread will make the rounds in our small community. It was fun to see what happened when one loaf of bread was left on a doorstep...that was only the beginning of a great story!

Thanks to the recipes provided in the book, our own Friendship Bread adventure will soon begin in New Richmond...
Minding Ben: A Novel
by Victoria Brown
Minding Ben (1/25/2011)
I enjoyed this book. I felt like I was reading a memoir. This was a book that I had a hard time putting down. I had to know what was going to happen next, and how things were going to turn out for Grace. Little Ben touched my heart.
The dialect was difficult to read at first, yet it did add to the realism. I felt that the story went at a steady pace, but that the ending was almost rushed and too abrupt.
Juliet
by Anne Fortier
Juliet (7/19/2010)
I wouldn't call this book a literary standout. But, I would say that I thought it had an entertaining, imaginative plot with many surprising twists. The chapters, alternating between the 1300's and the present day, gave an interesting change of pace. I'd classify this as a good book to take on vacation, not to be taken too seriously, but to be enjoyed. I can see this book appealing to older teens as well as adult readers.
