Where You Can Find Me: A Novel
by Sheri Joseph
Where I can be found (3/20/2013)
I liked the book at first start and thought it had good potential, however, it quickly faded. I did not like how the author reunited Caleb's abductor with Caleb. The context of the book also, at times lacked. I had a difficult time with finishing the book.
The Spy Lover
by Kiana Davenport
Civil Review (12/23/2012)
Absolutely loved this book!! The author did a great job, her accuracy with the civil war history was tremendous. Her description of the battles that were fought during the civil war was interesting and explained how the soldiers felt and how they dealt with such a brutal war. I would recommend this book to anybody who is a civil war enthusiast - great details but told in a familiar way. At the end one will feel very much a part of Ms. Davenport's family.
The Edge of the Earth
by Christina Schwarz
The Edge of the Earth (10/17/2012)
Loved the book Drowning Ruth and the The Edge of the Earth did not disappoint at all! Christina Schwarz did a great job with this novel. I was sorry to have it come to an end, and even more surprised at the twist! I would recommend this book to book clubs as I am sure there would be much discussion.
The Age of Miracles: A Novel
by Karen Thompson Walker
Lengthening of Days (5/26/2012)
The Age of Miracles was an intense book that grabbed you at the beginning and kept you tuned in to the last page. The story is told from the viewpoint of a 12 yr. old girl and what changes she encounters and has to deal with. I would recommend this book to book clubs as this would be a great book to discuss.
The House of Velvet and Glass: A Novel
by Katherine Howe
The House of Velvet and Glass (3/18/2012)
I enjoyed reading this book by Katherine Howe. The characters in the book are described very well. As I have read in her first novel, The Physick book of Deliverance Dane, she ties in the lives of the characters extremely well. Once again, this author has written a great historical novel and I would recommend this book for book clubs or anyone that would enjoy a great historical read.
I am glad that I was able to read this first impression book, thank you for the opportunity.
