I really enjoyed this book. I laughed often and read it when I really needed to relax. I liked all the characters, especially Aunt Midge. She was wonderful, loved her sense of humor and how she handled the 2 girls. It was so interesting to see how the 2 girls finally evolved from how they started in the beginning of the book.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted to enjoy themselves for a day or two just relaxing and reading this book.
I intend to pass it on to many of my book reading friends.
Thanks for sending me this book.
The Last Girl: A Maeve Kerrigan Novel
by Jane Casey
The Last Girl(5/12/2013)
I had trouble getting into this book but then it picked up and I was anxious to know who did it. I usually can read a book in 3-4 days. This seemed to take me a long time. It was O.K but just an average book. The plot was interesting and the ending surprised me.
This a very emotional book. I have had to put it down many times and go back to it. How these people lived through this is unbelievable. I don't believe that we in the United States have any comprehension that the atrocities were inflicted on average people fighting for their rights.
Her writing is so descriptive that it was like poetry. I will definitely pass it on to all my reading friends, those in my Book Club as well as others.
Once I got into this book I really liked it. The 2 main characters interrelated so well even though their ages were far apart and being black and white. They were lovely to each other.
I never did guess the ending till I was all done with the book.
I will write some more in a little while.
The Headmaster's Wager: A Novel
by Vincent Lam
My initial review of The Headmaster's Wager(8/12/2012)
I am not quite finished with the book yet as I got a late start on it. So far it is quite interesting and I will add to it later on. I find the 2 parents love and concern for their child touching as they will go to any lengths financially to get him back. I also find the parents relationship different considering that they are divorced and the wife is back biting him all the time. But at least they joined together to ransom him back.
