Pretentious writing (3/16/2015)
This book was written by a college English professor and it shows. It's like he was trying to emulate his version of great writing. As a result you have a book that's almost unreadable. It's hard to figure out who he's talking about half the time and what's actually going on at any given moment. His ways of describing a scene, weather, mood, etc. are especially muddy. Occasionally he gets the story moving along, and you can actually make some reading progress, especially in the last half. Still, not worth the effort. This is definitely not a book for the Grisham crowd, maybe the Ayn Rand crowd.
