What Doesn't Kill Her: A Reeve LeClaire Series Novel
by Carla Norton
Scary, scary, scary (8/26/2015)
What Doesn't Kill Her is a fast paced read that keeps you hanging until the bitter end. I was so afraid for Reeve LeClaire the entire book, but I never grew to like her honestly. She was a hard around the edges and not someone I could seem to like enough to become invested in her character. I enjoyed the plot, location, but I did not become invested in the characters. It was a good read but not one I want to follow as a series.
Thank you NetGalley and St Martin's Press and Minotaur Books for the opportunity to read for a fair review.

Fishbowl: A Novel
by Bradley Somer
Fish Eye Lens (6/11/2015)
Ian will forever be one of my favorite characters! The list of eclectic tenants and peeking into their lives as Ian free falls is original and refreshing. It is entertainment with guilt free voyeurism. We learn so much about human nature and the difficult decisions people are face with daily.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this wonderful book. It is on my bookclub list now for consideration as a selection.

I LOVE, LOVE the flip book! What a treasure of a story plus a cool little Ian on each page!
Make Your Home Among Strangers
by Jennine Capó Crucet
Culturally Speaking (5/10/2015)
I enjoyed reading Make Your Home Among Strangers, I enjoyed it very much actually. It is not something I would have chosen for myself, however, I am glad I had the opportunity. Thank you for choosing me. I was impressed with Lizet's confidence and drive. The story is told with detail and insight into the Cuban culture and the struggles of divorce, class, and being a minority.

I would recommend this book for a book club selection and for high school students.
Precious Thing
by Colette McBeth
Things are not always as they Appear (12/19/2013)
The premise of the novel makes a great story difficult to follow and made it difficult for me to invest in the story. However, around chapter 13 the characters seemed to level out and become readable. It is a fast-paced story with twist and plots that evil, evil! I was able to predict the outcome of some of the many, many plots and the characters were interesting. I read this book in one afternoon and I am passing it on to a friend for a second opinion but my rating is 4 stars. Just remember as she says in the book "things are never as they seem."
