We'll Prescribe You A Cat is a fun read with many twists and turns. If you are a cat lover or not it will be an interesting read. It's uniquely written and who knew cats could be prescribed as medicine. It is a fictional tale to be enjoyed with many thoughts to ponder filled with unimaginable surprises.. A perfect rainy day and cup of tea kind of book, cozied up with your favorite feline. Who knows, maybe you will fall in love with the cat prescribed for you. I plan to read it again too, that is how much I liked the book. I will be watching for more books by this author. Happy Reading!!
This novel presented a storyline that touches on a true and present danger here in my state and many others across our country. The book tells a story of behind the scenes life on a fictional reservation and casino and what evils could lurk in the dark of night behind closed doors. The story of an indigenous girl that goes missing and a sister determined to find her. The story line kept me interested in finding out what really happened and why. I recommend this book.
Dirt Creek: A Novel
by Hayley Scrivenor
Great work!(3/22/2022)
The title of this book caught my attention immediately and I was not disappointed! This is a great, well written story that kept me turning the pages. I liked the way the author created great characters and told the story from each perspective. I plan to read more books written by Hayley Scrivenor
The Stone Girl: A Novel
by Dirk Wittenborn
Intriguing page turner(4/29/2020)
I enjoyed this book from the very beginning and feel it will be a great success. The friendship between the two main characters was a little surprising but the bond they built became believable as the story came to life. I would recommend this book and feel the author had some well hidden surprises.
Red, White, Blue
by Lea Carpenter
Leaves a lot to the imagination(7/15/2018)
I think everyone that reads this book will come away with a completely different interpretation than the last. The format is a little awkward and halting but it's a very easy read. I would recommend this book to all ages and it would certainly make a good book club read. I liked the book, i hope you do too.
I am not afraid of thick books, it usually means big plot and I'm okay with hanging in to the very end. This became a laborious, tedious journey and I was extremely tired of the whole book by the time I closed it for the final time. Although it had some redeming story line it did not have enough to keep the enthusiasm going for the entire story. I usually enjoy historical novels.
Edgar and Lucy
by Victor Lodato
Well written and captivating(11/22/2016)
I knew by page 5 if the story was as strong as the writing I was possibly reading a bestseller. The boy's feelings and thoughts were so thought provoking I started making notes and highlighting different passages to go back to and think about again.. Edgar and Lucy will be in my mind and heart for a very long time, and on my bookshelf to revisit and read again. It is a lengthy story but I found myself not wanting it to end and as the end drew near, I started rationing out the pages even knowing I had a review to post I stretched it out. This book isn't like anything I've ever read and even though it's not exactly a "feel good" read it will stay with you for a very long time in a good way.
White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America
by Nancy Isenberg
Exciting Read(7/26/2016)
I'm jumping up and down, so excited to read a book that is factual as well as a very good read! This book clearly made me see the truth behind the history of our country and what we are taught in our history classes in grades 1-12 as such a fairy tale. (You must attend college to get the real story) I will keep this book on my library shelf to refer back to when needed. This was my introduction to Nancy Isenberg and I will be seeking out other books written by her. I would love to audit her American History class at LSU! It is such a joy when you run across a book that has so much factual detail included and it shows just how well White Trash has been researched. I can't say enough good things about this book and I'm telling all my friends.
A fairy tale, best read at bedtime, full of synchronicities that needed a few more ingredients to make it a worth while read. It had a promising plot, but just needed more work.
