I would encourage readers to read the first book before reading this one. There are a number of references and inferences to the first book, and had wished that's I had read it.

This is the first book that I read from this author. Once I settled into the parallel stories of the characters, I found myself drawn in. I will definitely read more books from this author, and will recommend this to other readers.
Although this gets off to a slow start, do not put this book down!!! Lucy who sets off to be a 'man' in the mid-1900's, this book reveals the trials and prejudices as she explores her sexuality.
