The Dreamer
by Pam Munoz Ryan
Best book for kids (3/15/2017)
Much to his father's disappointment Neftali is not like other children. Frail and painfully shy, he spends most of his time alone collecting treasures, reading, writing and daydreaming. His father thinks that these things are for fools.

Neftali finds wonder and beauty everywhere; in the oily colours of mud puddles, a lost glove sailing in the wind, in the nests of birds etc. EVERY CURIOUS DETAIL OF HIS LIFE TAUNTED HIM. Where some see an old boot or a pile of sticks, he sees a story and new places.

Neftali's father wants him to become a robust doctor but he has his own dreams. He prevails against his father's cruelty and protests to become one of the most widely known poets, PABLO NERUDA. This is a story that represents that how Neftali reconciles his dreams with the soul in his heart.
