The strong point of this novel was the interesting idea of having the point of view from someone in a coma who everyone thinks is unconscious, but who can, in fact hear everything going on around her. The downside is that the author tries to be too clever and ended up

If you're going to put in a lot of twists and red herrings you have to make them all work rather than just thinking "what would be the most unlikely thing to do" and sticking it in. Didn't work for me anyway. Left me feeling quite cross. (less)
