The Bourne Deception: A Jason Bourne Novel
by Eric Van Lustbader
The Bourne Deception (4/30/2018)
The setting of the story starts in an island in Indonesia named Bali. The main character, Jason Bourne, is on a retreat with a friend of his called Moira. The action starts when Bourne was ambushed and was nearly killed by his enemy and former colleague. Arkadin shot him right in the chest in the position of the heart. Because his heart had an awkward shape, Bourne survived it and decided to hide it. He was determined to catch his assassin.
The mission gets more complex as an American airliner was shot down by an Iranian missile. Both missions intersect and the problem gets bigger. Bourne now had to prevent a new world war and fast.
The author of this story, in my opinion, has done a good job in describing the characters and moving the plot accordingly. Although he has written many books, he still keeps the spirit of writing moving.
The action thriller contains real-like believable characters and real-life possibilities. The characters are also three dimensional.
The only challenge in reading this book is that it has many characters with unfamiliar names the reader could find hard to remember. Secondly, the reader has to resist the urge of skipping pages to see what happens at the end. First the conflict of a part is reached and the you will have go through another part before you get to the end of it. This way, the reader could forget the last thing that happened and will have to go back to recall it.
I would recommend this to a friend of mine if he likes reading and has a good memory and I would give it 4 stars for its amazing action.
