Cloudland: A Crime Novel
by Joseph Olshan
Cloudland(3/13/2012)
Cloudland is beautifully written with evocative and elegant descriptions of the Maine countryside in winter. One can almost smell the air. Where the book fails is in the characters, who are just not fully developed nor are they, or their actions, believable. People do not behave like they do in this book, some being too saintly, some being entirely too sinful or stupid. I found myself wanting to smack some sense into them!
Little Black Dress: A Novel
by Susan McBride
The little Black Dress(7/18/2011)
What a pity that this book will not be published until September, as it would have made a great "beach read" However it will be very enjoyable for readers of chick lit. Surely every woman wishes that she has a little black dress that fits like a dream, regardless of her size. Of course very dream has a down side and there is one to accessing the magic of the dress. Nevertheless a fun and fast read
Heat Wave: A Novel
by Nancy Thayer
Heat Wave by Nancy Thayer(5/3/2011)
A perfect book to take on vacation - the quintessential beach read. Women will find this a relaxing page turner, which will relate to much in their own lives or at least how they would wish their lives to be. "Heat Wave" will not join the annals of great literature but it is a fun book.
Original Sin: A Sally Sin Adventure
by Beth Mcmullen
A Female James Bond Returns(2/6/2011)
This is a book for the inner Wonder Woman in all of us. A fun read that takes us on a roller coaster ride to the heights of adventure between bouts of domesticity. Sally aka Lucy manages juggling her two identities with finesse and aplomb and we can only look forward to more books in this new series
