Big Girl Small: A Novel
by Rachel DeWoskin
Not that fond... (10/22/2018)
I think that the author had a good idea, but that idea was not consistent throughout the story, the author is very talented and I can tell she put a lot of effort into it, but I feel like she lost inspiration. The story as a whole was clever and well-written, but at the end none of it was relevant. She stretched out the story longer than necessary, and the ending was abrupt and rushed through. I think that this author is very talented, but I really wish she would have took more time with the ending. Nothing was really resolved. Was Kyle guilty? What really happened that night? I understand what you were trying to do, but why would you build up the entire book with unnecessary suspense just to forget it all and pretend like it never happened. The book was hard to follow, with no organized way to tell when it switched from past to present. If I'm being entirely honest, I was very disappointed.
