The Year of Magical Thinking
by Joan Didion
The Mind Bending Twists and Turns of Sudden Loss (6/10/2019)
The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion is an excellent read. It really describes the twisted paths, which the survivor takes with the sudden lost of one's spouse. I highly recommend this book.
Saturday Night Widows: The Adventures of Six Friends Remaking Their Lives
by Becky Aikman
The Best Grief Group for all Ages (6/10/2019)
Kicked out of a conventional grief group, the author decides to find a grief group for "younger" women, 39-57 to meet once a month and have adventures that would help them to climb out of the chasm of grief. The book is heart-wrenching as well as inspiring. We all should be so lucky to find such support. This an excellent read, full of humor and depth of feeling.
Unremarried Widow: A Memoir
by Artis Henderson
An excellent first book (2/17/2019)
A powerful memoir of love and loss. Artis Henderson describes the shock, grief and suffering of her loss. She shares how she moved to find a path for her life. An excellent read as well as an accurate description of the various emotions of grief and mourning. This book was a page turner.
