Castle of Water: A Novel

This is one of the most well written and engaging novels by a first time novel writer I have read. It is not simply a usual castaway story with a predicable plot and ending. The characters are engaging, intelligent and have a depth of personality you can imagine very distinctly.

The book was very interesting to read, however I think it would have worked better as historical fiction. It seemed like they felt they had to include every quote they found. As a result they couldn't weave in an extended story line which would have made a good book a great book.
