The Last List of Miss Judith Kratt: A Novel
by Andrea Bobotis
Gifted story teller (7/14/2019)
I could almost hear Judith's southern accent in my ear. I really liked her character. I would love to sit down and spend an afternoon with her! Her inventory list grows as more history and secrets are revealed.
The writing is beautiful. Andrea Bobotis is a gifted and humorous story teller.
The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls
by Anissa Gray
Great writing (10/15/2018)
I almost didn't finish this book, because I found it a little hard to follow. Anissa Gray writes beautifully and it was the saving grace. It's a sad story of a family and the choices each member made and the guilt, shame, and anger that follows them throughout their lives. It's definitely not a feel good book. There wasn't much happiness in it at all. Everyone just tries to get along the best they know how. There are a lot of good reviews of this book; it just wasn't my cup of tea.
Our House
by Louise Candlish
A Page Turner! (6/4/2018)
It took me a few chapters to realize I was not going to want to put this book down. The story is told alternately by Fiona, who is telling it on a true crime show, and Bram, her husband, from a Word document he's writing. Fiona arrives home early to find strangers moving into the house she shares with her two young sons. While that sounds outlandish, the events that lead up to it are plausible. If you like twists and turns and a surprising ending, you'll love this novel.
