I loved A man named Dave!!! It was so emotional! I don't think he should of married his first wife because she was not honest! She stole money and yelled at him! His mom was so rude, mean, and abusive. The one thing i really disliked about the book was the language. It was horrible!

This was so awe inspiring I couldn't put it down. I usually read a book in 1 day, but I read it over two weeks as I didn't want it to end. The books sparks remembrance of a childhood gone by, and an interest toward making the future the best possible. It allows the reader not only to view the life of David Pelzer, but to examine and learn from our own lives as well. Thank you Dave for sharing your painful story to the world. I hope the present and future will always be a better place in which to live.

Dave Pelzer is by far the most courageous, giving and inspirational man I have ever had the pleasure of learning about. As a male, 42 years of age, and after my own years of abuse, nothing of which compared to the abuse of this compassionate, witty articulate man, I found myself crying, smiling embracing and learning all along the way. Dave thru his writings has touched my heart in a way that no one has been capable of. It's as if he wrote these wonderful books only for me and from the very first one, 'A CHILD CALLED IT' you too will find yourself not wanting to put them down. By the time you make it to the second book, 'LOST BOY' you will find yourself a friend of Dave's and rooting for him all the way!! GOD BLESS YOU DAVE !

How can someone say how brilliant all three books of his were in 200 words. But, my favorite book of his was A Man Named Dave. It was so inspiring, it showed me that even if everything around you seems to fail you just have to keep on going. (As a freshman in High school it's good to here that.) Everyone has something or someone to life for. My absolute Favorite part in the book is when Dave and his son Stephen, take a walk along the Russian River and he speaks to his son about never getting into the pattern of giving up. I recommend this book to everyone because all of us get of our trail in life sometimes and need someone to help us find our way back.

It is unfortunate that we must experience or hear of experiences of abuse. However, without those with such courage as Dave Pelzer we would be in the dark as to the reality of or how to put an end to such violation of self and of our children. Dave Pelzer chose to be a survivor rather than a victim. I prey that his experience will open our eyes and our hearts to those who are desperately crying to be heard.

I never liked reading in my life. My mom sent me this book, and kept telling me to read it. So one night when I had nothing to do, I finally picked up the book and started to read it. I admit, mother was right again, I could not put the book down. I have never finished a book in less then a week 'till I read the first Harry Potter. Now my mom is sending me the next one. I love this book so much, I am having a hard time giving it back to my mother.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is an awesome book that everyone should read, young or old. Too many people pass their lives by without stopping to smell the roses, and this book opens us up to a whole new world. J.K. Rowling has an extreme talent and is unafraid to explore new territories. The best part it that when you get done with one book, there's anther of Harry's adventures coming. Some people don't want their children to read these books, but I ask if they've read them themselves, and the likely answer is no. Thank you Ms. Rowling, for relighting the creative candle that long ago burned out in our world.

When some of my friends discussed about this book, I was laughing at them because I thought they were too old to read this book. But when they gave me that book and urged me to try, I was so surprised. This book was awesome!!! The story about poor Harry Potter became a particular, famous student at the wizard's school, and his adventures with his good friends made me go back to my sweet childhood, which was full of fantasy and exciting stories about the world of magic, of wizards and witches, told by my mother. This story also encourages me to be more self-confident in everything I do and try to reach my goals, like Harry, who had lived in a dark, tiny cupboard, and then became a famous person, a beloved boy and got everything perfectly. After reading the first book, I immediately bought the next three books, and "ate" every letter in these books carefully. That is not enough for me, I'm starving for the fifth book now. I hope Mrs. Rowling will write it soon. Now my friends call me an old-age "child", but I don't care.

I think that Harry Potter "The Sorcerer's Stone" was a great book, not only did it make me not want to put down the book, but I kept wanting to know what else is going to happen to Harry Potter so I am now reading the whole collection, I am currently in the 3rd book "The Prisoner of Azkaban" I can't believe I never read this before I am 14 and I wish I would have read this book earlier, thanks J.K. Rowling for publishing this book, I hope there are lots more to come...

At the age of 19, I may seem a bit old to be reading Harry Potter, but I found this first book a great read! I had heard of Harry Potter before because my younger brother, who is 11, is always talking about him. Then I kept hearing about him on the news and magazines. Finally, I decided to pick up the first book and see what all the fuss was about. Since then, I've been hooked! I can't wait till the next book and I eagerly await the new movie!

Hi, I'm dheera,18 years old. when I finished reading this book. I felt like I'm in Harry's world...J.K Rowling can take me in into a world full of wizard and things like muggles, Hogwarts, even Quidditch!!! It's just so amazing...this is the best book I've ever had....I come from Indonesia..but I prefer to read the original one, because it differs from the translate one...and I really enjoy it...I cant wait for the third book, and I hope it wail be more amazing...congrats J.K!!!!!!

J.K Rowling had written 4 books before I read the 1st one and now I'm kicking myself for letting her get that far ahead of me! I read the 1st one after my mom had bought it my 13 year old brother. He had had it read to him in school and told me that since I love books so much I should read it. I wasn't interested but he kept pushing. I figured if Harry Potter can get my TV addicted brother this excited then it can't be all bad. So he brought it home, I started reading, and now I'm hooked!

As being a teacher of English (in Holland), it's needless to say that I have to read a lot of books. Harry Potter is one of the funniest, most thrilling children's books I have ever come across with. It's amazing how an author can come up with so many fascinating storylines and still keep it understandable to youngsters. I will certainly encourage my pupils to read it for their exams.

I just wanted to say that I ABSOLUTLY LOVE these books!!!!! Before I read these I had always thought that the Piers Anthony "Xanth" novels would stay my favorite, and when these books first came out I didn't think much about them. Then my brother read "Sorcerers Stone", told me how good it was and insisted I read it. Considering that he doesn't read much anyway I took his advice. From then on I was hooked. I couldn't put it down. I finished the first one it three hours (MAN it was good)!!!!! Since then my brother and I have read the rest, and thanks to our grandmother last Christmas, we now own the set. Xanth is no longer my favorite. Harry Potter RULZ!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I just can't wait for the rest!!) Way to go J.K Rowling!
