Father of Lions: One Man's Remarkable Quest to Save the Mosul Zoo
by Louise Callaghan
NF that reads like a novel (1/2/2020)
How do families survive when their city is occupied by terrorists? And how could a zoo of wild animals make it through such difficult times? I really enjoyed this book. I had read almost half of it, when I noticed on the book jacket that it was based on a true story. The author had interviewed the participants extensively. The characters were depicted with all their strengths as well as their faults. Love of family and love for animals ran throughout the true story. I would highly recommend this title.
