The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World
by Melinda Gates
The Moment of Lift (1/26/2021)
I am always impressed by the opinions and writings of the Gates family. I read them slowly because it's not like reading fiction. But I go back and reread much of it.
The Lost Man
by Jane Harper
The Lost Man (1/24/2020)
I think the book was well written but it took me a while to finish. The descriptions of people and the area were good. But the book was not usually the kind I read.
Fly Girls: How Five Daring Women Defied All Odds and Made Aviation History
by Keith O'Brien
Fly Girls (5/14/2019)
I find this a very interesting book. I didn't know there were other pilots beside Earhart. These were independent women which I always like to hear about as I am an independent woman. I found it sad that the men looked down at these women as they had to be capable to pilot a plane. I am still reading the book and have not finished it yet but hope to add further comments to the discussion.
The Ninth Hour: A Novel
by Alice McDermott
The Ninth Hour (9/14/2018)
At first I thought this was a religious book but I feel it was about how you live your life. The nuns were all different so you could associate with them in your own life.

The author writes great descriptions about everything.

Phrases I liked.

Truth finds the light.
Lies never stay hidden.
Love's a tonic, not a cure.
The Devoted
by Blair Hurley
The Devoted (5/31/2018)
I enjoyed reading this book. I think most people have a quest for a spirituality in their life which seems to be in this book. I know I do. I am always glad to find a new author as I read all the time and look forward to reading more by her.

Whenever I read a new book I always go to the library to see if they have other books by the same author. I hope so.
A Place for Us
by Fatima Farheen Mirza
A Place for us (4/9/2018)
Just started book. I recommend making a list of characters and their relationship to each other on paper. Makes it easier to follow along with the story.
Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk
by Kathleen Rooney
Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk (10/12/2016)
I enjoyed this book. There were several parallels to my own life. I read it in 2 days. I would recommend it.
Crazy Blood
by T. Jefferson Parker
Crazy Blood (1/18/2016)
I am a big fan of T. Jefferson Parker and have read many of his books.

I have read so many books that I have to keep track of them in my computer.
Black River: A Novel
by S.M. Hulse
Black River (1/18/2016)
I likes this book and thought it was quite good as a debut.

I would look forward to another book by this author.
