I have mixed feelings about the story. I really enjoyed the relationship between Mitchell and Poppy and I thought it was a good representation of the emotional ups and downs a father and daughter would experience after a sudden loss. Liza was likeable and I enjoyed how she fit into the story. However I didn't find the storyline about Yvette very realistic. It seemed to begin as a good idea but just became an afterthought by the end. I was expecting more of a mystery. I would recommend for someone looking for a sweet love story.
The Big Finish

The Big Finish(11/22/2019)
I enjoyed this book even though it took me a while to get through it. I felt it started a little slow so I didn't feel the need to find out what would happen next. However, once I got into it, I found the story heartwarming and interesting. Duffy was funny with his grumpy old man attitude and I found myself laughing at times. He reminds me of a few elderly men I have known and just like Duffy, they are grumpy and humorous on the outside but soft and caring on the inside. I feel that after reading this story, I have a better understanding of how the elderly must feel about nursing homes and assisted living facilities. I will recommend The Big Finish to anyone who enjoys a book that is funny but serious and sad at the same time.
You Were There Too

Emotional and thought-provoking story(9/2/2019)
I want to thank BookBrowse for the advanced reading copy of this novel. I went back and forth about how to rate it, but I based my rating on the fact that I could not stop thinking about the story after I was finished reading it. It is such an emotional rollercoaster that most of the time I loved it but I wish it had ended differently. The humor incorporated throughout made me laugh and then I would be crying soon after. I think I felt every emotion at some point in the story and I love that about a book.
Since the story focuses on dreams, I found myself trying to analyze my own dreams to see if I could figure out what they mean like Mia and Oliver did.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a thought-provoking story that sticks with you long after you put it down.
I don't write a lot of reviews but this book is one I just can't stop thinking about. I listen to a lot of audiobooks because of my long commute and I had a hard time turning it off every day, and when the end was near I didn't want it to be over. Ms. Setterfield's writing is beautiful and the characters are well thought out and detailed. The ending was very satisfying and all the questions were wrapped up nicely. I highly recommend.
