The Paris Hours: A Novel
by Alex George
Many Opportunities Not Taken (3/1/2020)
I liked most of the characters in this book, but I thought there were many opportunities for interesting things to happen to them that never did. It seemed that all of the energy of the book was geared only at trying to get all of the characters to the same place at the same time. This does happen at the end of the book, but there isn't much thrill in what happens. One character a door away from the daughter he lost at the beginning of the novel is the best storyline to come out of the novel but it is left unresolved.
You Were There Too

You Were There Too by Colleen Oakley Starts Too Graphically (9/1/2019)
I couldn't get past the prologue due to the graphic nature. I won't post any spoilers and others may be able to get past the violence and read the story. I was unable to do that.
The Last Romantics

The Last Romantics (1/16/2019)
I have been anxiously awaiting this book since I read The House Girl in 2013 and loved it! I enjoyed this book about a family of four siblings, their mother & the others in their lives. I liked the complex relationships that the siblings have with each other and their mother. I felt like most people would be able to connect to some trait of at least one of the characters. The death of their father makes a lasting impression on each of the siblings in a different way. There are many emotional moments in the book.
